- (三種斷, 三种断)
The three kinds of (sa) uccheda-- cutting-off, excision, or bringing to an end:(1) (a) [lang id =1028]自性斷 with the incoming of wisdom, passion or illusion ceases of itself; (b) [lang id =1028]不生斷 with realization of the doctrine that all is [lang id =1028]空 unreal, evil karma ceases to arise; (c) [lang id =1028]緣縛斷 illusion being ended, the causal nexus of the passions disappears and the attraction of the external ceases.(2) The three (sa) śrāvaka or ascetic stages are (a) [lang id =1028]見所斷 ending the condition of false views; (b) [lang id =1028]修行斷 getting rid of desire and illusion in practice; (c) [lang id =1028]非所斷 no more illusion or desire to be cut off.
